The Chairman's Corner

Good day to the Galaxy, haven't written anything in a while but have always posted new information on our facebook page. We are almost at the end of our season and i must say the first season in development district league has been tough. But not all is doom and gloom as we are already preparing for the new season.

Some of the challenges we faced this season were those of transport and money as we played all our games at central venues, meaning we had to travel about 3 km or more every weekend with our different divisions. But we hope things will get better in the new season as this has taken a great financial toll on the team and players alike.

Needless to say we have lost a number of players from our senior team in their off season as they went looking for greener pastures, but we remain committed to unearthing and developing young and raw talent in and around Soshanguve.

Thank you for your support.

The Chairman's Corner

Good day to the Galaxy, after not writing anything in the past two weeks i now again find myself giving you something to cheer about. We have collected some valuable points in the matches played since then and i must say the commitment being shown by both players and technical stuff has been superb. Though financially we are struggling we have managed to put together a very competitive team for the league.

Last week in very difficult circumstances our senior team beat Khensani by two goals to one playing with only 12 players all in all. This has been the story of the Galaxy as no matter what the circumstance is, we always strive to do our best to achieve our goals. This weekend so the senior team again collecting maximum points against Roman Stars AKA Amie Joe by beating them 3-2 at Block P in what coach Masala says was a tough match. Well done to our boys as they are now number 5 on the log with 6 wins and 18 points.

Our U19 were off last week so they only got to play their fifth game this week against a tough Eddie Sport who have also not lost a match. I was watching that particular match and i must say we could have won it by maybe 3 goals to one, but drawing 1 all was also a good result as it means we stay unbeaten in that division as well after four wins and a draw. The team is doing well and i hope they continue with the good work instead of getting complacent.

The Under 13 on the other hand is a team that one could say it is still in the gelling state and results will not mean much at this point. Regardless of that point the boys have also collected maximum points in the last two weeks like they senior team. They beat Super Eagles and Makaunyane Sundowns by one goal apiece in matches they could have easily won by more than five goals bar poor decision making. But they are young boys and can only learn and improve with each game.

To all the Galaxy people we are looking at the week ahead with optimism and thank you very much for your support.

Galaxy U19 hit Amie Joe for six

Sporting Galaxy U19’s continued with their rich vein of form, carrying on from where they left off last weekend to make two out of two wins.

Galaxy U19’s hammered their Amie Joe counterparts 6-1 to move to six points on the log table as they continue to impress on their debut season.

This is the boys’ second six-goal haul after the clobbered Mabopane Juventas by the same score line last week.

Thendo Tsomele’s double as well as a goal apiece from ThusoMasotha, Khutso Malaka, Phehello Ravele and Sibusiso Masango secured a win Galaxy.

Coach Nkateko ‘Drogba’ Moyana expressed his delight in the performance of his charges and added that he was impressed by the way they carried the momentum from the first game.

“We had a great game, our boys are getting confident game by game and the improvement is visible. However we still have to improve on how we defend set-pieces  but overall we played great,” said Moyana.

THE CHAIRMAN’S CORNER

Greetings yet again to the Galaxy faithful, we had a decent weekend as we won two of our league games. We would have liked to have won all of them but lady luck denied us. It is great to see how the team is coming together with minimum resources we have. The hard work being put in by coaches and players is commendable.

Back to our games, our Saturday game we played against Amie Joe Under 13 with our team ending losers by 3 goals to one. It was our first league game for the young stars and it showed when the nerves got the better of them. They started very well by scoring the opener a minute into the match and I guess over excitement also crept in. But I am expecting a much improved performance from them.

On Sunday I got the pleasure to witness our U19 demolish Mabopane Juventas by 6 goals to 1. Good performance overall with the outstanding Tumelo ”Tuks” Tsomele scoring the team’s first four goals. Our senior team also made us proud by defeating the league’s current number one Invaders by two goals to one. The goals came courtesy of a brace by Itumeleng “Torres” Makgolo.

This weekend we play against K Sporting U13, Amie Joe U19 and K Sporting promotion at Giant Stadium. The U13 game plays at 09H00 Saturday while U19 plays at 10H00 and Promotion at 11H00. All the best to our boys as we go for good performance and maximum points.

Galaxy seniors edge Invaders

Sporting Galaxy seniors continued with their recent found form, cruising to a 2-1 win over Invaders. The win was Galaxy’s third in five matches of the season so far.

The team welcomed back coach Masala Mugaga who missed the 5-3 win over Tshepo Stars due to a family bereavement. They boys hit the ground running and dominated the Invaders throughout the match and came out deserved winners.
Itumeleng "Torres"Makgolo’s brace was enough to secure the in for the senior team as they continue their assault on the log table.
Club CEO Clyde Tlou expressed his happiness in the team and urged them to continue with the good vein of form.
“Its good to see that boys are building up from their last performance against Tshepo Stars. Its important that we take it each game at a time to collect points and this being our first season we are not there to make numbers but to compete,” he said.
