Galaxy Snr. edge past Makaunyane

Sporting Galaxy seniors finally recorded their first league win on the debut season beating Makaunyane FC 2-0 at Basco Stadium  in Block FF, Soshanguve in Pretoria on Sunday.

The boys bounced back in fine style from their 4-2 loss in the season opener and dominated Makaunyane from the first to the last whistle. Phillip Maluleke's brace ensured maximum points as the team put the bodies on the line to seal a good win.

“We played a good game but our problem was that we were not releasing the ball quick to the next player available. The opponents employed a man marking strategy which forced my fullbacks to stay back. When I told my fullback to overlap he scored a brace. The introduction of Sifiso, Awelani and Tshepo gave us the edge as we managed to put the opponents under pressure”  coach Masala said after the game.

The team was also unveiling its new kit that got the players and fans mesmerized by the flamboyant Soshanguve boys.

Thabo Sebidi praised the team's character and also shared his excitement with regards to the brand new jersey that the club played in.

"It was a great game, Wow plus we ,we opening a new jersey wow! It was a great day, thanks for that jersey much appreciated . It rocks next time bring cameras," Sebidi said on the club's official Facebook Page
